A highly skilled Registered Nurse with Emergency Room expertise is needed to provide critical care in a Level 1 Trauma Center. This contract opportunity focuses primarily on behavioral health within a specialized emergency department setting. Nurses accepted into this role must demonstrate advanced clinical skills essential for managing complex trauma and emergency cases.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active state nursing license
- Minimum 1.5 to 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience, with Level 1 trauma experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BCLS (AHA), PALS, and TNCC mandatory; ENPC preferred
- Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration highly desirable
- Prior exposure to triage processes
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting system preferred
- Ability to manage high patient-to-nurse ratios (typically 1:5-6, potentially up to 1:8 during peak times)
- Open to first-time travelers or local nurses accepting single contracts
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional emergency and behavioral health nursing care in a fast-paced trauma and stroke center environment
- Maintain patient safety and clinical standards under fluctuating patient volumes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support complex patient needs
- Adhere strictly to scheduling requirements including working 3 weekends out of every 4 (Fri-Sun) and 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00pm-7:30am)
- Flexibility to work two of three major holidays with one holiday off granted
Additional Details:
- Scheduled floating to pediatric units may occur
- Modules completed during the contract are not billable work hours; plan for approximately 5 hours of additional training
- Timely submission of required requests off (RTO) is critical; no exceptions after initial approval
This is a contract role starting immediately with duration at least through early January. Candidates must be prepared to meet the demands of a Level 1 trauma center while providing compassionate emergency care.
