An opportunity exists for a skilled Registered Nurse with Emergency Room expertise to join a dynamic Level 1 Trauma Center located in Okemos, MI. This contract position offers a challenging and rewarding environment where you will contribute your clinical skills within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional emergency care. The department features specialized units including Stroke, Heart, Pediatric Emergency, and operates under high patient volume conditions requiring resilience and expertise.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current state nursing license
- Minimum 2 years of Level 1 trauma experience in an ER setting (required)
- Certifications: ACLS, BCLS by AHA, PALS, TNCC, NIH (ENPC preferred)
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with EPIC charting system
- Preferred: experience in procedural sedation, triage, continuous IV sedation administration
- Ability to handle high patient-to-nurse ratios, typically 1:5-6, sometimes up to 1:8
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma emergency department
- Deliver treatment supporting Stroke, Heart, and Pediatric emergency services
- Adhere to established protocols for trauma and emergency nursing care
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in a weekend rotation schedule with approximately 3 weekends per 4-week cycle
- Flexibility to float to pediatric emergency services as needed
Schedule:
- Night shifts, 4 twelve-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Additional Information:
- Clinical pass required prior to start
- Return-to-Work order must be submitted upon application; no exceptions
- No RTO allowed from 3/27 to 4/12
- This contract role may suit candidates open to temporary relocation or flexible travel
