Emergency Room Registered Nurse in Santa Ana, CA

A Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to support the Emergency Room in Santa Ana, CA on a contract basis. This role requires delivering safe, high-quality care through thorough assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will provide direct patient care, guide patient and family education, and collaborate with physicians to ensure timely clinical updates. The RN will also supervise other nursing personnel, uphold professional nursing standards, and maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Current and valid State RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) or Stroke Certification preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination and boosters preferred
• Bivalent Vaccine Program (BVP) training (Monoclonal Antibody)

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care within the Emergency Department scope
• Assess patients, plan nursing interventions, implement care, and evaluate outcomes
• Communicate patient status changes to physicians promptly
• Comply with EMTALA requirements and report abuse to appropriate agencies
• Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy standards
• Supervise and support nursing staff and participate in patient/family education

• Candidates must be available to work weekends
• Initial minimal compliance is accepted, with full compliance required within two weeks of starting (including license verification, immunizations/vaccinations, TB tests, drug and background screening)
