A critical care nursing opportunity is available in the intensive care units of a Level 1 Trauma Teaching Hospital located in Bonaire, GA. This contract position offers the chance to work across various specialty ICUs including Medical, Surgical Trauma, Neuro, Cardiovascular, and Progressive Care units. Ideal for RNs with at least two years of ICU experience or first-time travelers ready to expand their critical care expertise in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Current RN license with minimum 2 years ICU experience preferred
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
  • Competency in managing tracheostomies, chest tubes, PIV starts, and common critical care drips (insulin, heparin, sedation, vasopressors, etc.)
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam during onboarding
  • Experience with EPIC EMR system is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level critical care to ICU patients with 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios in ICU, and 1:3-4 in step-down units
  • Float across multiple ICUs as needed, including CCU, MICU, NICU, CVICU, and PCU
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including resource nurses, respiratory therapists, and intensivists
  • Perform ongoing patient assessments and administer complex medication infusions using Alaris pumps and monitor patient vitals using Phillips monitors
  • Participate in a comprehensive orientation program including educational modules and departmental training

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts, either 7A-7P or 7P-7A
  • Weekend rotation approximately every other weekend (5-6 shifts in a 12-shift cycle)
  • Holiday coverage required for major holidays in rotation
  • No on-call requirements
