Provide critical care nursing expertise in an ICU setting with responsibilities extending to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) support. This role demands proficiency in managing higher patient ratios and advanced cardiac and respiratory care skills.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN license with willingness to obtain Indiana temporary or compact license prior to start
- Minimum of 3 years ICU nursing experience; first-time ICU nurses not considered
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Competence in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Skilled in advanced cardiovascular and respiratory care including 12 lead EKG/ECG, arterial line and ventilator management
- Experience with post-cardiac surgery care, neurovascular events, and complex medication titrations
- Ability to float between ICU and PCU with strong PCU nursing skills
- Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays as scheduled
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU and PCU patients
- Manage complex care including cardiac catheterization, sheath removal, IV insulin protocols, and wound management
- Monitor and titrate continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and vasoactive drips
- Administer emergency medications and procedural sedation
- Support ventilator management and respiratory interventions such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
- Maintain strict infection prevention protocols and adhere to isolation precautions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Schedule/Hours:
- 3 x 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30), totaling 36 hours per workweek
- Alternative schedules include 8 or 10-hour shifts with guaranteed 40 hours per week, or 4 x 12-hour shifts totaling 48 hours
