Critical Care Nurse in Newton, KS

An opportunity is available for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide critical care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This contract role is based in Newton, KS, with a specialized unit offering advanced patient care utilizing cutting-edge medical technology.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients, including trauma cases, post-CABG, post-TAVR, and general post-surgical patients
• Monitor and manage patients requiring intensive interventions such as chest tubes, central lines, medication drips, balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia therapy, and ECMO
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain thorough documentation in the Meditech EMR system
• Adhere to unit policies and guidelines to promote a safe and efficient care environment

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active RN licensure with experience in ICU nursing
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC or ATCN
• Preferred experience with NIH protocols and critical care equipment
• Strong organizational skills, efficiency, and an engaged, positive attitude essential for success
• Ability to work 1:2 patient ratios, with readiness to provide 1:1 care for high-acuity cases

Schedule:

• Night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM
