Deliver critical nursing care within an Intensive Care Unit setting, providing expert support to critically ill patients of all ages. This role demands strong clinical skills, independent decision-making, and a compassionate approach aligned with physicians’ orders and established nursing protocols. The position includes ICU duties predominantly, with occasional floating to Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical, or Pediatric units based on census needs. Post-operative recovery care for general surgery, pediatric, and OB patients after hours is also part of the responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer comprehensive nursing care in a 5-bed ICU, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including surgeons and specialists, to coordinate patient treatment plans.
- Monitor patient conditions closely, respond to acute changes, and perform necessary interventions.
- Document and communicate patient status and care effectively.
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies, nursing standards, and clinical guidelines.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years ICU experience required.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Current, unrestricted RN license valid in any U.S. state, territory, or Commonwealth.
- Certifications to maintain throughout employment: • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association (within 6 months of hire) • Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) (within 6 months of hire) • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (within 6 months of hire)
