Providing critical nursing care to patients in a 5-bed Intensive Care Unit, this role demands expertise and confidence in managing critically ill individuals. The position also includes floating to the Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical, or Pediatrics units during low census periods. Responsibilities include adhering to physicians’ orders, nursing policies and standards of care, and delivering post-operative recovery support for general surgery, pediatric, and obstetric patients as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient nursing care and support to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Administer post-operative recovery care after hours.
- Float to other hospital units such as ED, Med/Surg, and Pediatrics when required.
- Work independently while following hospital policies, physician directives, and nursing standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years ICU nursing experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Current, unrestricted Professional Nursing License (RN) valid in any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
- Up-to-date certifications required to be maintained throughout employment:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) (within 6 months of hire)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (within 6 months of hire)

The area offers a semi-desert landscape with elevations ranging from 4,400 to nearly 7,000 feet, on the scenic Colorado Plateau. The healthcare center spans a 4,400 square mile service area and functions as a vital referral hub for Native American reservations.

- Orientation sessions occur every two weeks.
- COVID and flu exemption requests may be considered following submission of declination forms.
- Housing applications must be submitted two weeks prior to the start date; shared contractor housing is provided (no pets or families permitted).
- This is a contract position with the possibility to extend.
