Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse in Turlock, CA

Provide critical care nursing in a specialized Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting located in Turlock, CA. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic work environment where you’ll manage complex patients with a focus on medical management and post-surgical care. Key Responsibilities:

• Care for ICU patients, typically managing a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Administer and titrate medications and drips including Amigo, Cardizem, Precede, Leva, and insulin.
• Collaborate with charge nurses who assist by taking patient assignments.
• Interpret cardiac monitor strips independently; no dedicated telemetry techs.
• Float to Medsurg, Emergency Department, or PACU as needed.
• Participate in a self-scheduling system with shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
• Maintain professional appearance with flexible scrub color policy.
• Complete 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 2 years ICU experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Familiarity with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP; vented patients are rare.
• Comfortable working in a setting without patient care tech support.
• First-time travelers welcomed.

Shift & Scheduling Details:

• 12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
• Every other weekend and 2 major holidays required.
• Self-scheduling with final approval by management.
