A specialized opportunity is available for a registered nurse with expertise in Interventional Radiology (IR) to support the Vascular Lab at a well-equipped medical center located in Sylvester, GA. This contract role offers a focused clinical setting with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekend or on-call duties, providing an optimal work-life balance.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with 2 years of Interventional Radiology or Vascular Lab experience, including at least one previous travel contract; or 4 years without travel experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Comfort and skill in pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation, and post-procedure recovery
- Preferred background in cardiac, ICU, or emergency room nursing due to complexity and acuity of patient cases
- Ability to manage complications including cardiac arrests during procedures
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care within the Vascular Lab, performing patient preparation, sedation administration, monitoring during procedures, and recovery care
- Collaborate closely with surgical techs to manage room preparation, supply handling, and charge documentation
- Provide expert care for critical cases including Lifeport insertions, PICC lines, fistulograms, catheterizations, and vascular stenting procedures
- Adhere to established protocols using systems like Meditech and operate equipment such as Phillips portable bedside telemonitoring devices
