A demanding and rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse with Med-Surg experience in an orthopedic trauma specialty unit. This contract position is located near Arlington, TX, providing the chance to apply and expand your nursing expertise in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Responsibilities include delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients with orthopedic and trauma diagnoses, such as polytrauma cases, non-surgical cervical fractures, downgraded TBIs, and burn downgrades. You will manage patient care with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, occasionally flexing to 1:6, using tele monitoring equipment and electronic medical records (Meditech). Routine administration of heparin and protonix drips is part of the care provided.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year medical-surgical nursing experience required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications mandatory
  • Orthopedic and trauma patient care experience preferred
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team player

Schedule/Hours:

  • Day and night shifts available with briefing huddles at 6:45 am/pm
  • Four weekend shifts commitment required every month

This contract role requires adherence to unit dress code (royal blue scrubs), punctuality, and policy compliance. Floating across other medical-surgical units may occasionally be expected.
