This contract opportunity is for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide orthopedic care in a specialized surgical unit. The role is based in Arvada, CO, at a prominent hospital known for its strong nursing team and commitment to positive patient outcomes. The position covers a night shift schedule from 7 PM to 7 AM, supporting a 20-bed orthopedic unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage care for up to five patients during a shift
- Perform surgical unit procedures, including dressing changes and aspirations
- Administer pain management and orthopedic patient care
- Collaborate with a dedicated nursing team to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Utilize Meditech EMR for clinical documentation
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse license with experience in medical-surgical (MS) nursing
- Proven ability to work independently in a surgical or orthopedic unit
- Experience in orthopedic procedures and pain management preferred
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
- Familiarity with surgical nursing best practices and patient safety policies
