Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Arvada, CO

A healthcare opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in Medical-Surgical care with telemetry capabilities. This contract position is based in Arvada, Colorado, offering the chance to work in a dynamic hospital environment on the Med/Surg 5th floor unit.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to post-operative surgical patients and those requiring telemetry monitoring.
• Assess and monitor patients with cardiac drips such as amiodarone and diltiazem, including heparin drip management.
• Utilize remote telemetry equipment to interpret cardiac rhythms accurately.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses and assistive care technicians to maintain a patient ratio of approximately 5:1.
• Document and communicate patient status effectively using the MediTech electronic medical records system.
• Adhere to unit policies and guidelines, contributing to a high-energy, supportive team atmosphere.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current RN licensure and Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Proficiency in telemetry and the ability to read cardiac strips.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy unit.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative work style.

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
