Provide skilled care as an experienced Med/Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse in a dynamic hospital setting. This contract position requires a minimum of two years of Med/Tele nursing experience and offers the chance to work in a 32-bed unit caring for a diverse patient population. The role emphasizes cardiac, respiratory, and renal care, with opportunities to utilize advanced skills and collaborate within a supportive team environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- At least 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience
- Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and management of non-titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone
- Skilled in wound care, drain and tube management, PIV starts, and central line care
- Comfortable using Epic EMR, IV pumps, and telemetry monitoring technologies
- Ability to float within the regional hospital network based on scope and patient care needs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in a patient-centered environment
Responsibilities:
- Manage a patient ratio of 1 RN to 5 patients, focusing on stroke, respiratory illnesses, renal failure, and wound care cases
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CNAs, phlebotomy, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7
- Utilize virtual nursing technology to enhance patient monitoring and support medication administration
- Assist with admissions and discharges as required
- Adhere to unit protocols and engage in the structured orientation process
