Provide specialized nursing care in a dynamic Neuroscience unit known for its dedication to patient-centered care. This contract role is based in the Denver area and centers around managing complex medical-surgical and neurological patients during night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The position offers the opportunity to work within a highly motivated team, utilizing advanced clinical skills and critical thinking in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough NIH and neurological assessments as part of stroke and neuro patient care.
- Perform and monitor procedures such as tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, and fall risk assessments.
- Utilize and manage medical equipment including IV pumps, seizure monitors, BiPAP/CPAP devices, and glucometers.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe, efficient patient care environment providing a typical 4:1 or 5:1 RN-to-patient ratio.
- Adhere to clinical practice guidelines for neuro patients while promoting positive patient experiences.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with strong medical-surgical (med-surg) nursing background required.
- Certification in NIH, Basic Life Support (BLS) mandatory.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and neurological nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to multi-task, demonstrate critical thinking, and work effectively in a team setting.
- Positive, energetic demeanor with flexibility and strong engagement in patient care standards.
