Medical-Surgical RN in Derby, KS

A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse with telemetry experience to provide compassionate care on a dedicated Telemetry unit. This position offers a focused clinical environment where teamwork and patient-centered care are prioritized.

Location: Derby, KS (near Wichita)

Unit Overview:

• 26-bed Telemetry T4 unit
• Staff includes seasoned RNs, patient care techs, charge nurses, and unit clerks
• Typical patient ratios approximately 1:5
• Equipped with lifts, wheelchairs, gait belts, walkers, and canes
• Uses electronic medical records (EMR) for documentation
• Procedures commonly managed include TURPs, gastric bypass, joint replacement, post-hysterectomy care, and gallbladder surgeries

Desired Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license with telemetry monitoring expertise
• ACLS certification is required
• Experience with NIH protocols preferred
• Strong clinical skills in post-operative and telemetry patient care
• Team-oriented with an outgoing personality to foster a supportive work environment

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess cardiac patients and other telemetry cases
• Collaborate closely with a diverse care team to ensure high-quality outcomes
• Support patients after a variety of surgical procedures with attentive care
• Utilize EMR effectively for accurate and timely documentation
• Participate in unit-based teamwork and communicate openly with leadership

Work Schedule:

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Contract role with flexibility for travel and relocation
