A critical role is available for an experienced registered nurse with a strong background in medical-surgical care, including orthopedic and spine patients. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification is optional but preferred
- Demonstrated punctuality, strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Positive attitude, effective communication, and a proactive, self-starting approach
- Advanced assessment, prioritization, critical thinking, and time management skills are essential
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to a varied medical-surgical patient population, including orthopedic and spine cases, trauma patients, and those requiring special procedures such as thoracentesis and dialysis
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, wound vacs, and more
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, maintaining patient safety and comfort while supporting the unit’s high standards
- Document care accurately using Meditech electronic medical records
- Adhere to unit policies and participate in scheduling that includes at least one weekend shift in a four-week period
