Travel Medical-Surgical RN in Greensboro, NC

A healthcare opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in Med-Surg and Orthopedic Trauma nursing. This contract position offers the chance to provide advanced care for patients needing orthopedic surgery and trauma treatment. Schedule & Responsibilities:

• Night shifts: 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, every other week
• Mandatory coverage of one holiday shift plus one evening shift during the holiday period
• No call responsibilities
• Manage a patient load of approximately 6 to 7, focusing on orthopedic patients including total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs
• Provide care for elective and trauma orthopedic cases with pre-op and post-op responsibilities
• Utilize Safe Patient Handling and specialized orthopedic equipment such as CPM machines, knee immobilizers, and bone foam
• Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams and apply evidence-based nursing practices
• Maintain documentation and charting utilizing EPIC electronic health records system

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers are not eligible
• Registered Nurse license with Med-Surg and orthopedic trauma experience essential
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Familiarity with orthopedic trauma care, including preoperative and postoperative management
• Comfortable with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio (stretch to 1:7 possible)
• Flexibility with scheduling and adherence to policy on attendance and punctuality
