A registered nurse with medical-surgical and orthopedic trauma experience is needed for a night shift contract assignment in Greensboro, NC. This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to care for pre-op and post-op orthopedic patients, including elective cases and trauma involving total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing skilled nursing care to orthopedic trauma patients.
  • Utilizing Rapid Response Teams as needed.
  • Operating specialized orthopedic equipment including CPM devices, Knee Immobilizers, and Bone Foam.
  • Managing a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:6 to 1:7.
  • Documenting patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records.
  • Adhering to safe patient handling protocols.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience; first-time travelers are not considered.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with medical-surgical background required.
  • Orthopedic and trauma nursing expertise strongly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Rapid Response Team processes.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records.
  • Ability to work night shifts, specifically 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) every other week.
  • Flexibility to work one holiday and one evening shift during holiday periods.
  • Strong attendance and punctuality, as the client enforces a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.

This contract role adheres to a 50-mile radius rule and requires passing a mandated EKG exam for all nursing staff. Candidates must commit to compliance deadlines.
