Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Hixson, TN

Provide skilled nursing care on a dynamic medical-surgical unit specializing in patient-centered treatment at a reputable hospital located in Hixson, TN. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care with a focus on patient safety and comfort on a 30-bed unit
• Perform advanced clinical skills including IV starts, nasogastric tube (NGT) placement, wound care, and cardiac rhythm monitoring
• Utilize equipment such as wound vacs, heparin drips, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanners, feeding pumps, and telemetry systems
• Accurately document patient information using the Editech system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including unit secretaries, nursing techs, clinical coordinators, and leadership
• Participate in floating to a similar unit as required
• Maintain a positive patient experience by responding to needs promptly and escalating any issues through appropriate channels
• Adhere to dress code requirements of navy scrubs

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid RN license with medical-surgical experience
• Proficient in IV starts, NGT placement, and wound care
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythm interpretation required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Schedule:

• Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
