An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity environment specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry care. This contract position offers the chance to work in a nationally recognized, team-oriented teaching hospital, designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center and renowned as a Chest Pain and Stroke Center.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Rotating weekends (5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 per 6-week schedule)
  • No call shifts required
  • Holiday coverage includes at least one major holiday per cycle

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 2 years’ recent MedSurg/Telemetry experience
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (required to pass EKG competency during onboarding)
  • Med-Surg certification is an asset
  • Proficiency with trach care, chest tubes, PIV starts/IV maintenance, cardiac rhythm monitoring, and titrating cardiac drips

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse adult population with acute or complex chronic medical conditions, post-surgical, cardiac, and trauma cases
  • Accurately interpret and monitor telemetry strips, manage post-cath patients, and administer cardiac and insulin drips as directed
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, supporting care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education
  • Float between Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units as needed
  • Utilize advanced technology, including Epic EMR, Phillips monitors, and Alaris intravenous pumps
