A healthcare role is open for a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with MedSurg/Telemetry expertise, based in Matthews, NC. This contract position offers a dynamic bedside nursing experience in a high-acuity environment within a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated hospital known for its excellent stroke and chest pain centers.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license with a MedSurg and/or Telemetry background
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (Emergency Department or Med/Telemetry preferred)
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required; PALS, CPI, TNCC preferred for ED nurses
  • Competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, trauma care, stroke care, and critical care interventions
  • Skilled in IV starts, chest tube and drain management, NGT placement, and blood administration

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Provide nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as trauma, stroke, heart failure, respiratory illnesses, GI disorders, and mental health concerns
  • Manage patient ratios up to 1:5, acuity dependent, with CNA support
  • Oversee medication drips including cardiac and anticoagulants, PCA pumps, and fluid resuscitation
  • Utilize EMR system EPIC and associated medical technology proficiently
  • Float to various facilities within the region as required, maintaining flexibility and adaptability
  • Participate in scheduled orientation and departmental training

Schedule / Hours:

  • Weekend rotation every other weekend
  • Holiday shifts approximately 75% during contract duration
  • No on-call responsibility for travelers
  • Time off requests allowed (up to 6 days excluding holidays, with contract extension if needed)
