This opportunity offers a rewarding role within a specialized 42-bed Heart Failure / Stroke Unit focused on patients with neurological and cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke. The unit maintains a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, staffed by highly skilled professionals working closely with cardiologists and neurologists to provide expert, compassionate care following best practice standards.
Location: Situated in Mc Calla, AL, this region offers a welcoming community with convenient access to natural outdoor activities, cultural amenities, and a cost of living that provides excellent quality of life.
Responsibilities include managing complex neuro-cardiac cases with precision and empathy, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and providing exceptional patient-centered care. Flexibility is essential, as the position requires floating to other units and hospitals, along with working every other weekend and holidays as needed.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Nursing required
- Current Registered Nurse license for Alabama or Compact license (no temporary licenses accepted)
- Certifications including AHA BLS, ACLS, NIH, or Red Cross
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, with minimum 1 year in neuro-cardiac specialty; 18 months experience considered under highest professional license
- Proficiency in managing care for stroke and heart failure patients
Job Type: Contract
Schedule:
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend and holidays as required
