Step into a dynamic environment at a reputable teaching hospital offering a challenging and collaborative Med-Surg/Telemetry RN opportunity. As a valued nursing professional, you will provide care for diverse patient populations, including those with acute or chronic health conditions, cardiac needs, and various post-surgical recovery requirements.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts: 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am
  • Weekend rotation: 5–6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
  • No on-call requirements
  • Holiday coverage: one shift for each major holiday per cycle

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred (must pass EKG competency during onboarding)
  • Strong assessment and time management skills
  • Skilled in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts/IV maintenance, care coordination, and discharge planning
  • Proficient with Telemetry: monitoring/interpreting rhythms, post-cath management, TR bands
  • Comfortable administering/titrating insulin, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, milrinone, Digoxin, and nicardipine drips (for HR titration only)
  • Patient education expertise

Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive patient care for adults with diverse diagnoses (e.g., diabetes, CHF, infection, electrolyte imbalances, post-surgical recovery)
  • Floating to all Med/Tele units as needed
  • Effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Supervising and coordinating with CNAs, support staff, and resource nurses
  • Accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
  • Participating in discharge planning and patient/family education
