Provide skilled nursing care on medical-surgical units in a supportive hospital environment located in Mount Juliet, TN. This contract role focuses on delivering quality patient care predominantly on two adjacent 27-bed floors, with a patient ratio of approximately 5:1. You will work alongside a dedicated team including unit secretaries during day shifts and tech support on all shifts, helping enhance patient outcomes and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Care for post-operative patients, including ortho cases, providing basic med/surg nursing care.
- Perform blood transfusions and manage IV and central line maintenance.
- Float flexibly between two medical-surgical units as needed.
- Utilize advanced equipment such as computers on wheels, Pyxis medication systems, and Welch Allen vital sign machines effectively.
- Document patient care accurately using Medhost, transitioning soon to Meditech.
- Adhere to hospital policies and dressing code requiring dark blue uniforms.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN license with solid med/surg nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Experience with post-op orthopedic patients is desirable.
- Comfortable working with electronic health records and modern nursing technology.
- Ability to adapt and float between units when necessary.
Schedule:
- Three days per week including every other weekend, offering a balanced work-life schedule.
