Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care to adult patients in the MS Stroke Stepdown unit
  • Manage common diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal failure, dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues
  • Utilize specialty equipment such as IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management
  • Maintain documentation using EPIC electronic medical records
  • Participate in floating assignments as needed to support unit operations

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown setting
  • Active New York RN license with all nursing licenses verified and in good standing
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Strong references from recent MS Charge or Manager RN supervisors
  • Up-to-date resume demonstrating travel nursing experience and specialty skills
  • Valid driver’s license with current address visible on documentation

Schedule:

  • Shift: Evening to early morning (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) with block scheduling
  • Flexibility to float within the facility as needed

This contract position is ideal for local candidates within a 75-mile radius. The role requires commitment and the ability to adapt within a fast-paced environment focused on high-quality patient outcomes.
