A dedicated Registered Nurse is needed in North Liberty, IA, to support patients requiring specialized care in neurology and oncology. Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, integrating medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic findings to formulate nursing diagnoses and care objectives.
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and their families to address specific health needs and preferences.
- Deliver patient education regarding pre- and post-operative care, diagnostic procedures, discharge instructions, and preventive health measures.
- Adjust educational approaches according to the patient’s age, cultural background, and readiness to learn.
- Serve as a mentor and preceptor to new nursing staff, fostering skill development and professional growth.
- Participate actively in hospital governance and quality improvement projects to uphold standards of care and enhance patient outcomes.
Schedule/Hours:
- 3 days per week, 12-hour night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM), every third weekend
- 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts, days or nights (7 PM – 7 AM), every fourth weekend
- Monday to Wednesday nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
- Weekend evening shifts available (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday)
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with relevant experience in neurology and oncology nursing preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proven ability to educate patients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience mentoring and precepting junior staff members is a plus
