An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with oncology experience to contribute to a high-performing Blood Cancer Unit in Arvada, CO. This contract position supports a specialized unit focused on compassionate care for patients battling hematologic cancers. Ideal candidates will bring both clinical expertise and emotional intelligence to handle the complex needs of oncology patients in an acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered nursing care within the Blood Cancer Unit, maintaining a 3-4:1 patient ratio
- Manage administration of medications, blood products, and electrolyte replacements following strict unit protocols
- Participate in specialized oncology procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, and thoracentesis, while adhering to safety guidelines, including handling hazardous drugs (without chemo/biotherapy administration unless certified)
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure evidence-based practice and quality patient outcomes
- Support and engage with patient and family education on treatment and care plans
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure with oncology nursing experience, especially in hematology or step-down units
- Compassionate and adaptable approach to care for chronic oncology patients
- Chemo and biotherapy certification preferred but not mandatory; education on hazardous drug handling will be provided
- Proficiency with telemetry, bladder scanners, Alaris infusion pumps, and EMR systems (Meditech experience is a plus)
- Ability to quickly learn unit procedures and protocols in an acute setting
