Provide expert nursing care in a specialized Blood Cancer/Oncology unit supporting patients through critical treatments and procedures. Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with oncology experience, preferably with chemo and biotherapy certification
- Compassion for chronic and oncology patients, quick learner in acute care settings
- Experience with step-down unit procedures valued, including fluid bolus administration and fever protocol
- Familiarity with procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies (with conscious sedation), and thoracentesis
- Ability to handle hazardous drugs safely if uncertified for chemo administration (education provided)
Location Details: Situated in Aurora, CO, the Blood Cancer unit is located on the 8th floor of a major medical center, featuring an 18-bed specialized oncology floor staffed by dedicated professionals. Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care with patient ratios of approximately 3-4:1
- Utilize tele, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Meditech EMR systems effectively
- Collaborate with a team culture focused on quality care, safety, and continuous improvement
- Administer medications, blood, and electrolyte replacements per unit policies
- Support procedures and patient comfort during invasive diagnostics
Schedule and Job Type:
- 7P to 7A night shifts
