Provide specialized nursing care in a dynamic Blood Cancer Unit within a well-recognized medical center, supporting patients with oncology and hematology needs. Schedule:
- 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care to oncology patients with a focus on blood cancers
- Administer medications, blood, and electrolyte replacements following unit protocols
- Support procedures including lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, and thoracentesis
- Monitor patients and utilize specialized equipment such as tele monitors, bladder scanners, and infusion pumps
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Adhere to safety guidelines when handling hazardous drugs, with education provided for proper protocols
Desired Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with oncology experience preferred
- Compassionate and adaptable approach to caring for chronic and acute oncology patients
- Quick learner with ability to manage standing orders and respond effectively to patient needs
- Chemo and biotherapy certification and step-down experience are advantages but not required
