Provide compassionate care in a dynamic medical-surgical and oncology setting at a 48-bed acute care facility in New Cumberland, WV. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work alongside a dedicated team in a supportive environment, focusing on patients with diagnoses such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, altered mental status, GI bleeding, alcohol withdrawal, and general weakness or falls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care including vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, ECG application, and heart monitor attachment.
- Assist with patient hygiene needs such as bathing, feeding, toileting, turning, and positioning.
- Safely titrate medication drips like heparin, bumex, and lasix under established guidelines (no cardiac drip titration).
- Collaborate with respiratory therapists monitoring ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapies.
- Adapt to floating assignments to medical-surgical, medical-surgical telemetry, or intermediate care units as needed.
- Work a 12-hour night shift schedule, including weekends on a rotating basis.
- Participate in a holiday rotation as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license with BLS certification.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience; first-time travel nurses are welcome.
- Skills in medical-surgical and oncology patient care.
- Ability to titrate certain IV drips confidently.
- Willingness to follow unit policies including uniform dress code (navy blue scrubs for RNs).
- Flexibility to assist with schedule needs and shift rotations.
