Position Type:
- Contract assignment
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (07:15 AM – 06:45 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy treatments safely, including continuous infusions, IV pushes, and oral chemotherapy
- Handle body fluids and manage cytotoxic spills following strict protocols
- Perform comprehensive IV therapy including blood and blood product administration, anticoagulants, antifungals, antivirals, and port care
- Monitor patients closely for adverse reactions and communicate abnormal lab values promptly
- Float within scope to meet facility needs as necessary
- Maintain detailed clinical documentation using Cerner electronic health records
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Registered Nurse with an active Illinois license or currently in the licensure application process
- Minimum of 1 year oncology nursing experience preferred; first-time oncology nurses are welcome to apply
- Chemotherapy certification highly preferred
- IV therapy and infusion skills including port access and central line care
- Ability to comply with work schedule and facility call-off guidelines
