This opportunity seeks a Registered Nurse with experience in Medical-Surgical nursing to provide quality patient care in a 48-bed unit focused on common conditions such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, altered mental status, GI bleeding, alcohol withdrawal, and falls/weakness. The role requires strong skills in patient care, vital signs monitoring, and medication titration (excluding cardiac drips), offering a hands-on position with opportunities to manage drips like heparin, bumex, and lasix.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor vital signs, blood glucose levels, and EKGs; apply heart monitors.
  • Assist patients with bathing, feeding, toileting, turning, and positioning.
  • Titratable drip management within scope.
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapists regarding respiratory equipment.
  • Work within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-8 during night shifts.
  • Participate in floating across med-surg, med-surg-tele, or intermediate care for varying acuity.
  • Adhere to scheduled 12-hour night shifts with weekend rotations and potential holiday coverage.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year nursing experience required; first-time travelers are welcome.
  • Active RN license and BLS certification.
  • Med-Surg background preferred, with basic competency in titrating select IV drips.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting with flexible scheduling.
  • CNA or PCT certification is a plus but not required; opportunity to attend PCT class available.

Schedule & Location:

  • 12-hour shifts, primarily night shifts, with weekend and holiday rotation.

  • Contract position with no call or standby requirements.
  • Dress code includes navy blue scrubs for RNs.
