Provide specialized nursing care for adult patients in a medical-surgical stroke stepdown unit. This position focuses on delivering high-quality care to individuals recovering from stroke and other complex medical conditions, including COPD, CHF, renal issues, and pulmonary complications. Experience with IV pumps, nasogastric (N/G) tubes, and feeding tubes is essential.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage adult patients in a 64-bed MS Stroke Stepdown unit
- Administer treatments and medications using specialty equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement patient-centered care plans
- Manage patients with diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, dialysis needs, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and other pulmonary conditions
- Participate in unit floating as required to meet patient care demands
- Adhere to infection control protocols, including isolation precautions as needed
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical stroke stepdown or similar specialty
- Current AHA BLS certification and NIHSS certification required
- Proven expertise with EPIC electronic medical record system
- Ability to provide 2 recent references from MS Charge/Manager RN supervisors
- Documentation of travel nursing experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographic requirements
- Skills checklist aligning with nursing specialty
Shift & Scheduling:
- Evening to overnight shift: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
- Navy blue scrubs required
