Provide expert nursing care in a dynamic Cardiac Med/Tele unit at a busy healthcare facility. This 13-week contract opportunity offers evening to overnight shifts, focusing on acute medical-surgical and telemetry patients within a 37-bed unit. Candidates play a vital role in delivering quality patient care while adapting to the evolving needs of the unit and hospital.
Location: Pittsford, NY, is a charming suburb known for its vibrant village area, excellent dining, and proximity to outdoor attractions like parks and trails. Residents enjoy a mix of small-town charm and convenient access to metropolitan amenities nearby.
Schedule/Hours:
- Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM
- Options available for 36 or 48 hours per week
- Typically 1 weekend shift weekly or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend
- Must be available to work at least one holiday during the contract
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active NY Registered Nurse license required
- NIH and AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in acute medical-surgical or telemetry nursing
- For non-U.S. candidates, 2 years of recent U.S. work experience required
- Preferred: 2 years of recent acute med-surg/telemetry experience
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting system is necessary
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients
- Flexibly respond to unit needs, including floating to other units as required
- Participate in charge nurse responsibilities with provided training
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
