An opportunity is available for a registered nurse skilled in medical-surgical care to support a 60-bed inpatient unit specializing in Med Surg and telemetry. This contract position offers a focused environment where patient-centered care is paramount, with the use of advanced equipment such as bladder scanners, vein finders, IV pumps, and wound vacs, supported by EPIC EMR technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment for diverse medical patients.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Ensure patient rights and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
  • Apply nursing judgment in line with professional standards and Missouri Nurse Practice Act.
  • Participate in orientation and adjust to shift requirements, primarily working nights (1900-0730), with weekend rotations as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current RN licensure valid in Missouri.
  • Minimum of one year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Ability to float to similar or lower acuity units as necessary.
  • Dependable, flexible, and collaborative team player with strong professional accountability.

Additional Information: This position is a 13-week contract with guaranteed weekly hours of either 36 or 48, which should be specified upon application. Orientation for day shifts will be required before transitioning to night shifts. Flu vaccination or approved exemption is mandatory during specified months.
