Join a dedicated healthcare team providing exceptional care on the 8 East Neuro unit at a leading hospital in Saint Louis, MO. This night-shift registered nurse position offers a rewarding opportunity to care for Med-Surg patients in a dynamic and supportive environment. The assignment is contract-based, spanning 13 weeks with flexible guaranteed hours of either 36 or 48 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using clinical judgment and nursing process for patients recovering post-trauma, surgery, and managing medical comorbidities.
- Coordinate patient care activities collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes and comfort.
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and facility standards.
- Adhere to established guidelines including the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and the hospital’s Code of Conduct and Mission Values.
- Provide care consistent with the unit’s specialized neuro-medical patient needs on 8 East Neuro.
- Participate in orientation on day shift prior to starting night shifts, ensuring full readiness for shift requirements.
- Perform physical tasks including patient lifting (up to 50 lbs.), frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and occasional kneeling.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license eligible or active in the state of Missouri.
- Minimum of 1 year inpatient Med-Surg nursing experience, neuro experience preferred.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with weekend rotation as required.
- Comfortable with floating to similar or lower acuity units as needed.
- Adherence to facility dress code: black scrubs.
