Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Saint Louis, MO

This night-shift registered nurse position offers a rewarding opportunity to care for Med-Surg patients in a dynamic and supportive environment. The assignment is contract-based, spanning 13 weeks with flexible guaranteed hours of either 36 or 48 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using clinical judgment and nursing process for patients recovering post-trauma, surgery, and managing medical comorbidities.
• Coordinate patient care activities collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes and comfort.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and facility standards.
• Adhere to established guidelines including the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and the hospital’s Code of Conduct and Mission Values.
• Provide care consistent with the unit’s specialized neuro-medical patient needs on 8 East Neuro.
• Participate in orientation on day shift prior to starting night shifts, ensuring full readiness for shift requirements.
• Perform physical tasks including patient lifting (up to 50 lbs.), frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and occasional kneeling.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license eligible or active in the state of Missouri.
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient Med-Surg nursing experience, neuro experience preferred.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with weekend rotation as required.
• Comfortable with floating to similar or lower acuity units as needed.
• Adherence to facility dress code: black scrubs.
