A Registered Nurse with med-surg expertise is sought for a contract position on a 20-bed medical-surgical unit serving adult geriatrics and pediatric patients. This role provides an engaging opportunity to deliver high-quality care within excellent staffing ratios—typically 4:1 for non-COVID patients and 2:1 for COVID patients—ensuring manageable patient loads and a supportive working environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing nursing care to adult and pediatric patients on the med-surg unit.
- Flexibly working assigned 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Assisting in Flu Immunization clinics as needed.
- Attending staff meetings and participating in department activities.
- Occasionally floating to other qualified departments, managing patient loads or assisting with task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure.
- Minimum of three years med-surg nursing experience.
- At least one year of pediatric nursing experience.
- Comfortable and competent caring for both adult and pediatric populations.
- Required certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Scheduling:
- 12-hour shifts; shift assignment varies.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, and holidays is required.
Orientation occurs on Mondays only; missing compliance deadlines results in deferment to the next scheduled orientation.
