Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Trussville, Alabama

Opportunity available for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care on a trauma and burn mixed acuity unit. This specialized setting supports both stepdown and medical/surgical populations, including stable trauma cases, post-operative patients (such as orthopedic and GI/trauma surgeries), and stable burn patients. The unit is designed for dynamic, hands-on nurses passionate about delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to mixed acuity patients, including trauma, post-surgical, and burn cases
• Monitor and assess patients, documenting conditions and reporting changes promptly
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and assist in procedures as needed
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing health management
• Maintain accurate records and uphold all facility protocols

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with current ACLS and BLS certifications
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a med/surg or stepdown/trauma setting is strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with mixed patient populations, including post-surgical and trauma, highly desired
• Ability to manage patient loads in both acute (1:4-6) and stepdown (1:3-4) settings

Schedule:

• Contract assignment with flexible shift availability based on unit need
