A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to support a dynamic MedSurg/Telemetry environment. Ideal candidates are ready to contribute clinical expertise and coordinate care for a diverse inpatient population, utilizing strong assessment and time management skills in a bustling, team-focused setting.
Schedule & Shift Details:
- 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday coverage: one shift on each major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s)
- Requests for time off considered through manager approval
Qualifications:
- Current RN license
- Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg and Telemetry RN experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS preferred (required to pass EKG competency during onboarding)
- Telemetry skills: monitoring/interpreting cardiac rhythms, post-cath care, management of TR bands/groin sites
- Experience with specific drips: insulin, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, milrinone, Digoxin, nicardipine
- Proficient in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts/maintenance, glucommander use
- Experience with discharge planning, interdisciplinary care, and patient education
- Med/Surg certification is a plus
- Will consider first-time travelers with strong experience
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with acute/chronic disease, co-morbidities, and post-surgical needs
- Maintain high standards of clinical documentation using EPIC EMR
- Participate actively in rapid response when needed
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and ancillary support staff
- Float to all Med/Telemetry units as required
