Exceptional RN opportunity specializing in Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care in Charlotte, NC. This contract position offers a unique chance to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity pediatric ICU unit renowned for its comprehensive services including a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment. The role promises an engaging challenge caring for a diverse population presenting complex medical, surgical, and trauma cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver critical care nursing for NICU and pediatric ICU patients with conditions such as respiratory distress, trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical and renal conditions, transplants, and complex medical disorders.
  • Manage patient care with acuity-sensitive nurse-to-patient ratios varying from 1:1 to 2:1.
  • Utilize advanced equipment and technology including EPIC EMR, Alaris & Medfusion pumps, Belmont Rapid Infuser, and various monitoring devices.
  • Administer vasoactive drip titrations, invasive line management, ventilator and tracheostomy care, CRRT, and bedside procedures as required.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with a 24/7 multidisciplinary support team including intensivists, APPs, RTs, phlebotomy, resource nurses, and unit support staff.
  • Float within pediatric critical care units including CVICU, NICU, and neonatal progressive care as operational needs dictate.

Qualifications:

  • RN license with BLS and PALS certifications mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years pediatric ICU experience in a high-acuity setting.
  • Proficient in EPIC EMR and experienced with critical care devices such as Artic Sun, Camino, Belmont Rapid Infuser.
  • Ability to manage complex nursing procedures and provide critical care interventions.
  • Strong clinical judgment and flexibility to float among related pediatric critical care units.
