Highly skilled registered nurses with NICU experience are needed for an exciting contract opportunity in Concord, NC. This role offers a chance to work in a dynamic pediatric ICU setting within a teaching hospital boasting 247 licensed beds and designations including Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, Chest Pain Center, and Certified Stroke Center.
Location Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care in a high-acuity Pediatric ICU environment with an average patient census of 21-23 across 24 beds
- Manage complex cases involving respiratory issues, trauma (including NAT), DKA, seizures, neurosurgical care, renal failure, orthopedics, transplant patients, and various medical and blood disorders
- Administer critical care including vasoactive drip titration, invasive lines management, ventilator and trach support
- Utilize advanced equipment such as EPIC EMR, Belmont Rapid Infuser, Artic Sun, and Alaris & Medfusion pumps
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists, residents, APPs, respiratory therapists, and support staff
- Float as needed to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, or general pediatrics units
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Registered Nurse licensure with BLS and PALS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in high-acuity Pediatric ICU nursing
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, critical care environment
- Demonstrated skills in managing invasive lines, ventilators, CRRT, sedation/analgesic drips, and bedside procedures
- EPIC experience and familiarity with specialized devices such as Artic Sun and Camino preferred
Schedule:
- 26-week contract with potential 48-hour/week guarantee (confirmation required)
- No mandatory call shifts for travelers
- Schedule cycles change every six weeks with manager-approved return-to-office flexibility
