A critical care nursing opportunity is available for a registered nurse with NICU and pediatric ICU skills. This contract position is located in Gastonia, NC, and offers the chance to work in a busy Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center with a 24-bed unit providing high-acuity care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Registered Nurse licensure with BLS and PALS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in high-acuity Pediatric ICU settings
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
  • Competence with advanced critical care equipment and procedures including art lines, vasoactive drip titration, ventilator and trach management, and CRRT
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and complex environment
  • Willingness and ability to float to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, or General Pediatrics as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and care for patients with complex conditions such as respiratory disorders, trauma, neurosurgical cases, and transplant recovery
  • Utilize advanced monitoring devices and equipment for patient stabilization
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists, APPs, residents, and specialized support staff
  • Adhere to sterile and aseptic techniques, perform bedside procedures, and participate in patient discharges
  • Float to other pediatric units as needed to meet staffing and patient care demands
