A specialized opportunity is available for experienced registered nurses skilled in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nursing to contribute to a high-acuity pediatric critical care environment. This contract position is located in Mooresville, NC, offering a dynamic setting within a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert nursing care in a 24-bed unit with an average of 21-23 patients, managing complex cases including respiratory issues, trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical cases, renal failure, orthopedic and surgical patients, transplants, blood disorders, and other complex medical conditions.
- Maintain patient ratios that vary based on acuity, typically 2:1, 1:1, or 1:2.
- Perform critical care vasoactive drip titration and manage invasive lines such as ART lines and CVP.
- Execute sterile techniques, dressing changes, ventilator and tracheostomy management, feeding tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, sedation, Foley catheter care, and bedside procedures with providers.
- Utilize medical technologies including EPIC EMR, Alaris and Medfusion pumps, Belmont Rapid Infuser, Artic Sun, Camino ICP monitoring, and more.
- Float to Pediatric CVICU as needed, showcasing versatility in specialized pediatric care.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with at least 2 years of experience in high-acuity Pediatric ICU nursing.
- BLS and PALS certifications required.
- Proficient in EPIC and demonstrated competency with advanced monitoring and critical care equipment.
- Ability to manage complex pediatric critical care patients and flexible to float within related pediatric units.
- First-time travelers are welcome and supported.
