An opportunity is available for a skilled RN with Operating Room expertise to support a Level 1 Trauma Center in Arlington Heights, IL. This contract role offers a consistent night shift schedule with a focus on acute care surgical procedures across multiple specialties. Candidates with strong scrub and circulate skills and at least two years of recent acute care OR experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure with a minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in the Operating Room
- Experience in Level 1 Trauma settings
- Proficient in scrub and circulate roles
- Solid background in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
- Preferred experience includes Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology
- BLS certification required
- Local candidates preferred within a 75-mile radius of Arlington Heights, IL
- Pending licenses are not accepted
Responsibilities:
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity Level 1 Trauma Center
- Float within facility as needed following scope and policy guidelines
- Work rotating night shifts (4x10-hour shifts from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Manage call duties one 10-hour shift monthly on weekends with no weekday call
- Adhere to call and time-off policies, including restrictions around holidays and weekends
Schedule:
- Night Shift: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (8:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekend call: One 10-hour shift (7 AM – 7 PM or 7 PM – 7 AM) monthly
- Weekend work every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
