OR RN in Chapel Hill, NC

A skilled Registered Nurse is needed to provide expert care in the Operating Room setting with a focus on orthopedic, spine, gynecological, general surgery, and robotics procedures. This contract opportunity involves working 12-hour variable shifts at a well-established healthcare campus, offering an engaging environment for experienced OR nurses passionate about surgical nursing.

Key Qualifications:

• Current NC or Compact RN license required
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory
• Minimum 3-5 years of operating room experience including ortho, spine, GYN, general surgery, and robotics
• Strong charting skills; experience with Epic electronic health records preferred
• Ability to manage change, demonstrate resilience, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced setting
• Must adhere to scrub color policy (red, black, gray, or white solid colors; see guidelines for additional details)
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required unless exempted for medical or religious reasons

Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe and effective nursing care throughout surgical procedures in the operating room
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Respond to call requirements including up to 50 hours of on-call per six-week schedule
• Comply with hospital policies regarding dress code and infection control
• Adapt to variable 12-hour shift schedules, including weekends and holidays

Schedule & Duration:

• 12-hour variable shifts
• Contracts offered for 36 to 40 hours per week
• 13-week contract with immediate start
