Bring your expertise as a registered nurse to a dynamic operating room environment in a Level 1 Trauma Center. This contract opportunity requires a dependable RN with significant experience managing acute surgical cases, ready to excel in high-stakes situations and a collaborative team setting.

Schedule & Hours

  • Four 10-hour night shifts, 8:30 pm–7:00 am
  • Every other weekend (two weekends per month required)
  • No block scheduling available
  • One 10-hour on-call shift each month, scheduled on a Saturday or Sunday (either 7:00 am–7:00 pm or 7:00 pm–7:00 am)
  • Maximum of 5 requested days off (no more than 2 consecutive), with specific blackout dates around holidays and weekends

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum two years of recent acute care experience in the operating room
  • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting required
  • Proficiency in both scrub and circulate roles
  • Strong background in Orthopedics, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
  • BLS certification required
  • Prefer candidates with exposure to Neurosurgery (craniotomy and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology procedures
  • Must be willing to float within scope to meet the facility’s needs
  • Navy blue scrubs provided
  • Locals preferred (must live within 75 miles); pending licensure not accepted

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based patient care within the OR setting
  • Anticipate and respond to emergencies and rapidly changing priorities
  • Collaborate with surgical teams and support staff to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner
  • Adhere to safety, infection control, and sterile technique standards
