Operating Room RN in Des Plaines, IL

This opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses specialized in Operating Room settings, eager to work in a dynamic Level 1 Trauma Center. The position involves night shifts designed to provide steady hours and a balanced schedule. Candidates will have the chance to engage with diverse surgical specialties in a fast-paced environment, utilizing strong skills in scrub and circulate techniques.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in Operating Room nursing
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating with strong skills
• Experience preferred in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Trauma, Vascular, Urology, General Surgery
• Additional preferred experience in Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology
• Must hold current BLS certification
• Ability to float within scope as required by facility
• Locals within 75 miles preferred; must have active nursing license, no pending licenses accepted

Location: Situated in Des Plaines, IL, this role offers access to a community known for its suburban charm and proximity to metropolitan amenities. Responsibilities:

• Work night shifts from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
• Participate in one 10-hour call shift per month on weekends; no weekday call required
• Float between units as mandated to meet clinical demands
• Manage patient care in a Level 1 Trauma setting with diverse surgical cases
• Adhere to strict scheduling guidelines regarding time off requests and weekend coverage

Contract Information:

• Contract position with guaranteed 40 hours per week
• Schedule includes every other weekend work with defined weekend call requirements
