A healthcare role is available for a Registered Nurse with ICU expertise, offering an opportunity to engage in critical care nursing within a high-acuity environment. This contract position involves working primarily the 12-hour night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, on a schedule that includes 36 hours per week. The role requires flexibility to float among various specialized intensive care units, providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in ICU settings including Medical ICU, Surgical Trauma ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Neuro ICU, Critical Care Unit, and Progressive Care Unit.
- Manage complex patients requiring ventilator support, vasopressors, sedation, and various infusion therapies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including respiratory therapists, intensivists, and hospitalists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain competencies such as EKG interpretation as part of onboarding and ongoing performance.
- Participate in holiday and weekend rotations, providing care during major holidays as scheduled.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of two years ICU nursing experience required.
- Current RN licensure with certifications including BLS and ACLS; CCRN certification preferred.
- Proficiency in tracheostomy care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and managing complex IV drips such as insulin, heparin, vasopressors, and paralytics.
- Experience using EMR systems (preferably EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Phillips monitoring equipment.
- Ability to float and adapt to different ICU units within the healthcare system.
