An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room to contribute expertise in a dynamic surgical environment. This contract position offers a chance to bring specialized skills to a variety of surgical services over a 13-week period beginning December 22, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room across diverse specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Urology, Endoscopy, Trauma, and Robotic-assisted procedures.
- Support cases involving Bariatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT, Cataracts/Retina surgeries, and Cesarean sections with a focus on emergency readiness.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation using EPIC, staying current per institutional requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with surgical teams to enhance patient outcomes in fast-paced OR settings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of operating room nursing experience, encompassing various service lines.
- Proven ability to manage emergency situations confidently.
- At least 2 years of full-time OR experience plus completion of one successful travel assignment.
- Proficient in General, Orthopedic, Joint, Urology, Endoscopy, Trauma, and robotic Da Vinci surgical cases.
- Required specific expertise in cataracts/retina surgeries, vascular procedures (including thrombectomy), and cesarean sections.
- Active NC or compact Registered Nurse license.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated recent experience (within 6 months) using EPIC for charting.
